Microscale Plasma Devices

Abstract

The objective of the Microscale Plasma Devices is to develop microscale plasma devices for the efficient, high pressure (up to or even including atmospheric pressure) generation of ions, radiofrequency energy, and light sources. Applications for such devices are far reaching, including the construction of complete high frequency logic circuits, and integrated circuits with superior resistance to radiation and extreme temperatures. This effort addresses the Applied Research part of the overall program, translating the basic science advances to complex circuit designs that may be integrated with commercial electronic devices. This program has basic research efforts funded in PE 0601101E, Project ES-01.
