Safer Alternatives for Readiness (SAFR) Applied Research
Abstract
Design and develop novel cross-cutting solutions to eliminate Soldier and worker exposure to airborne lead from energetic materials; efficiently and safely demilitarize materiel; support the next generation of enhanced and sustainable munitions; reduce the use of toxic and hazardous chemicals in cleaners, degreasers, lubricants and fluids to ensure Soldier and ground vehicle readiness; and minimize the life cycle health and safety risks associated with emerging high-performance materials.
