Abstract
The C-27J is a medium-size airlift aircraft that provides flexible and responsive delivery of time sensitive and mission critical (TS/MC) equipment, supplies, and personnel to austere operating locations during contingency operations abroad, and in support of domestic homeland security and disaster response operations. This program is in Budget Activity 5, System Development and Demonstration (SDD) because it has passed Milestone B approval and is conducting engineering and manufacturing development tasks aimed at meeting validated requirements prior to full-rate production.
