Abstract

This program consists of extramural research activities in academia and industry along with in-house investigations performed in the Air Force Research Laboratory. This program funds fundamental broad-based scientific and engineering research in areas critical to Air Force weapon systems. All research areas are subject to long-range planning and technical review by both Air Force and tri-Service scientific planning groups. This program is in Budget Activity 1, Basic Research, because it funds scientific study and experimentation.
