Missile Defeat Project

Abstract

The Missile Defeat Project counters the growing global advancement and proliferation of road-mobile ballistic missile threats. The Missile Defeat Project coordinated and integrated Department of Defense and Intelligence Community efforts to develop counter-threat capability. In order to carry out the important role initiated by Missile Defeat, in accordance with the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, in FY 2019, the Missile Defeat Project transferred activities initiated under Missile Defeat to other stakeholders. In FY 2021, Missile Defeat Project residual resources and capabilities transferred to Program Element 0603338D8Z (Defense Modernization and Prototyping), Project Code 722, Time Sensitive Targeting and Defeat (TSTD), in support of an expanded Multi-Domain TSTD alignment of key technology development and modernization. Activities will be coordinated with the Services, appropriate Agencies, and the Combatant Commands to transition these developments into viable warfighting capabilities.
