Multi-Mission Helicopter Upgrade Dev

Abstract

This Program Element funds the development and improvement of MH-60R/S systems. MH-60R/S Multi-Mission helicopters deploy with Carrier Air Wings aboard aircraft carriers and in support of expeditionary detachments aboard cruisers, destroyers, amphibious ships, Littoral Combat Ships and auxiliaries, in addition to supporting operation ashore. The MH-60R represents a significant avionics improvement to the H-60 series helicopters by enhancing primary mission areas of Surface Warfare (SUW), Anti-Submarine Warfare, Electronic Warfare, Command and Control, and Non-Combat Operations. Secondary missions include: Amphibious Warfare, Air Warfare, Health Services, Fleet Support-Operations, Intelligence Operations, Logistics, and Naval Special Warfare. Primary missions of the MH-60S include SUW, Special Operations Forces Support, Personnel Recovery and Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM). Additional missions include Combat Logistics, Vertical Replenishment, Search and Rescue, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response.
