Abstract

This program element includes development of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) tactical aircraft, USMC helicopters, unmanned air vehicles, data link vulnerability assessments, precision targeting, USN and USMC radio frequency jammers, and development and testing of EW devices on emerging platforms to combat emerging threats and emergency contingencies. JUSTIFICATION FOR BUDGET ACTIVITY: This program is funded under SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND DEMONSTRATION because it includes those projects that have passed Milestone B approval and are conducting engineering and manufacturing development tasks aimed at meeting validated requirement prior to full-rate production decision.

Change Summary Explanation
* Prior to FY13, this program was funded under PE 0604270N, PU 3327. Intrepid Tiger II (ALQ-231) EOC slid from first quarter FY2012 to third quarter FY2012 due to the correction of deficiencies identified in testing. IOC is quantity-driven and slid from third quarter FY2012 to first quarter FY2014 due to Congressional Mark to FY2012 APN budget that reduced procurement quantity. Block 1 Test/QRA was added after approval of Rapid Deployment Capability (RDC) request for F/A-18C/D platform. Software Reprogrammable Payload IOC shifted from fourth quarter FY2013 to third quarter FY2016 due to delays in testing and shift to spiral development strategy. FOC was deleted due to changes in fielding profile. JCTD was replaced with KC-130 Tech Demo. Electronic Warfare Battle Management Schedule shifted from first quarter FY2013 to first quarter FY2014 due to OCO funding reduction in FY2013. Operational Evaluation of IP Based EWBM on EA-6B was deleted due to pending sundown of that platform and renewed focus on platform-agnostic approach as part of the MAGTF EW 2020 vision.
