Personnel Transport Module (PTM) for Landing Craft Air Cushion (Navy)
Abstract
Tests a personnel transport module (PTM) for use aboard the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC). The PTM, constructed of a light weight yet durable composite material, will enable the Navy to deploy up to 180 seated combat-ready Marines or 54 litter-borne medical evacuees in a single LCAC sortie. The primary outputs are resolution of severe deficiencies of the current design, which includes reduced assembly time and improved ventilation to increase habitability and usage, and delivery of a PTM that provides increased durability and reduced maintenance and life cycle costs.
