Internet of Battlefield Things Collaborative Research Alliance (IoBT CRA)
Abstract
The Internet of Battlefield Things (IoBT) Collaborative Research Alliance (CRA), seeks to gain fundamental understanding of IoT phenomena and its performance in tactical environments, ranging from sparse, remote settings to complex, dense urban environments. To enable an IoBT capability, research needs to address intelligent resourcing and influence in complex, constrained and uncertain networks (demand from massive numbers of dynamically connected devices, limited and unpredictable connectivity, shared civilian networks, computation at or near the device), heterogeneous sensing and actuation devices (efficient, smart devices with self-organizing/preservation/directing capabilities), and variable, and unreliable provenance and dynamisms of information and device signals.
