Single Point Failures (SPFs)
Abstract
This thrust area seeks to mitigate single source and no source of supply to armaments and ammunition manufacturing operations. Thrust area tests or evaluates alternative materials and processes to mitigate SPFs. These efforts are part of the overall strategy to reduce the number of SPFs in the NTIB. Additionally, thrust area efforts will address ammunition manufacturing capability shortfalls. This area leverages RDTE accomplishments and product knowledge to satisfy manufacturing requirements.
