Azido(tert‐butylperoxy)methyl Compounds – An Exceptional Class of Energetic Materials

Abstract

Azido(tert‐butylperoxy)methyl group containing molecules derived from difunctional carbonyl compounds were prepared and fully characterized by using a range of analytical methods. The molecular structure of a representative compound was determined by X‐ray diffraction, which is the first example of a molecular structure of this class of molecule. The sensitivities of the molecules were measured, and the performance values of the compounds were calculated by using the EXPLO5 program.
