Developing next generation ionic polymer–metal composite materials: perspectives for enabling robotics and biomimetics

Abstract

In this article, we present recent advancements in Ionic Polymer‐Metal Composite (IPMC) technology. The current trajectory of the research shows immense promise for a future with highly capable IPMC actuators and sensors being used in a wide range of robotic, soft‐robotic, and biomimetic technologies.. © 2020 Society of Industrial Chemistry
