A novel cyclopentyl methyl ether electrolyte solvent with a unique solvation structure for subzero (−40 °C) lithium-ion batteries

Abstract

A novel ethylene carbonate free dilute electrolyte employing cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) solvent could improve the operation of graphite electrodes at −40 °C along with an excellent cyclability of 100% after 100 cycles at −20 °C.
