Oxidative decomposition of dimethyl methylphosphonate on rutile TiO2(110): the role of oxygen vacancies
Abstract
Dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP), a simulant for toxic sarin, partly desorbs from rutile TiO2(110), and partly decomposes by P–O or C–O bond cleavages. High temperature formation of gaseous methanol and formaldehyde is facilitated at oxygen vacancies.
