Adenosine Indexes RyR1‐Agonist‐Induced Calcium Overload In Lymphocytes from Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) Susceptible (MHS) Patients

Abstract

The RyR1 receptor exists in human blood lymphocytes (B‐cells); RyR1 agonists can induce calcium overload in B‐cells from MHS individuals. We hypothesized that RyR1‐agonism is associated with increased adenosine (ADO) formation due to increased ATP degradation, which is enhanced in B‐cells from MHS subjects.
