Effect of Zinc Supplementation on Diarrhea and Malaria Morbidity in Adults in Rural Kenya

Abstract

Zinc (Zn) supplementation has been associated with reductions in the incidence and severity of diarrheal diseases and malaria in young children, but not in adults. We evaluated the potential role of Zn for treatment of diarrhea and malaria in adults living in western Kenya, a malaria and HIV‐prevalent setting.
