Intelligent Computer Aided Design, Analysis and Improvement of Combined Cycle

Abstract

This paper describes the use of an ICAI (Intelligent Computer Aided Instruction) software package for the design, analysis and improvement of the combined cycle. The traditional cycle design and analysis is long and tedious. Obtaining an accurate combined cycle performance quickly is necessary in the design process. Objectives for improvements which cannot be easily accomplished using the conventional method are emphasized. As an example of the capabilities of the package, the design, analysis and improvement of an innovative Brayton/Ericsson cycle are given.
