Aerial Ground Mapping for Characterizing Landing Zones (Air Force)

Abstract

FY 2017 New Start - Test airborne electromagnetic ground survey techniques currently used in commercial applications for characterizing landing zones for military aircraft. This could replace the current approach of inserting manned teams on the ground to perform the manually intensive, time consuming task of characterizing potential landing zones, often in hostile environments. Completed Phase I Laboratory and Static Testing in FY 2017.
