Remote Weapon Station (RWS) Auto Prioritization, Targeting, and Operator Cueing (RAPTOR)

Abstract

The Remote Weapon Station (RWS) Auto Prioritization, Targeting, and Operator Cueing (RAPTOR) project will develop a prototype for a crew-served weapon system that will semi-autonomously detect, track, prioritize, and engage multiple targets with operator determination. This is a joint effort in conjunction with representatives of the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR). These partner organizations will provide subsystems critical for RAPTOR functionality. The combined demonstration of multi-agency science and technology developments will serve to inform the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) Program of Record. RAPTOR will also inform the development of a Joint Advanced Weapon Sensor System (JAWSS) Capability Development Document (CDD).
