Containerized Ice Making System
Abstract
Develops an add-on ice making capability that automatically dispenses and seals 10 pound (lb) bags of ice at a minimum rate of 3,600 lbs of ice per day. Based on Army current operational requirements for ice of four lbs per soldier per day, this capability enables support for up to 900 personnel. Current operations require external support to provide personnel with ice for cooling drinking water in extremely arid environments. This capability will reduce the sustainment risk and cost associated with transporting this commodity from external sources.
