Common Laser Range Finder (CLRF)
Abstract
The Common Laser Range Finder (CLRF) is a Family of systems consisting of the Common Laser Range Finder Integrated Capability (CLRF IC) and the Next Generation Handheld Targeting System (NGHTS). The CLRF IC will complete fielding in FY 2021. The NGHTS is currently in development and will consolidate the capabilities of multiple systems into a single targeting capability that will support Joint Forward Observers and Joint Terminal Air Controllers for the next decade. The NGHTS provides day and night enhanced target locating capabilities as well as the ability to employ laser guided munitions with significant size and weight reduction as compared to current fielded systems.
