Biological Robustness in Complex Settings (BRICS)

Abstract

The Biological Robustness in Complex Settings (BRICS) program developed innovative approaches to engineer forensic microbial systems, creating unique microbial signatures for environmental forensic operations and modulation of host function. Integrating the fundamental component technologies developed under PE 0601101E, TRS-01, this program focused on engineering microbial communities, detection signatures, and mechanisms of robustness. This deeper knowledge helped assemble the constructs needed for new microbial systems that could be used for DoD relevant applications including forensics and warfighter health and performance.
