SHIVA Phase 2
Abstract
Project Shiva is a wide area search, multi-intelligence fusion effort designed to locate likely home-made explosive (HME) manufacturing and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) related activity in areas of interest worldwide. The wide area search concept is further oriented on cueing other narrow focused sensors to more efficiently locate threat activities. Project Shiva requires no additional theater footprint, is rapidly adaptable, and can operate in denied airspace, worldwide. The resultant information is timely, precise, and when correlated with other systems, is intended to materially assist local combat commanders’ ability to detect and destroy HME before it can be used as a weapon.
