Nanotechnology-Environmental Effects
Abstract
This effort enables the Army's ability to field advanced nano-based technologies by appropriate identification and assessment of the environmental impacts of nanomaterials. The end result of this research is the development of tools that guide the design of nanomaterials based on such factors as adverse effects on human health or the environment. The goal of the tools is to influence the design of nanomaterials in such a way that when the nanomaterials enter the environment the impact will be minimalized.
