LGM-30G Fast Rising B-Plug Phase II (FRBP II)

Abstract

The FRBP is a security element that delays access to the Launch Facility. It is a 14,000 pound rising door that obstructs the Personal Access Shaft (PAS). The current system can experience uncommanded Raises (UCR) due to component single point failures and transient voltages. The FRBP II will update hardware and software by redesigning circuitry to decrease susceptibility to UCRs while also addressing maintenance, reliability and sustainment issues.
