Rapid Software Development using Binary Components (RAPID)
Abstract
The Rapid Software Development using Binary Components (RAPID) program developed a system to identify and extract software components for reuse in new applications. The DoD has critical applications that must be ported to future operating systems. In many cases, the application source code is no longer available requiring these applications to continue to run on unsecure and outdated operating systems, impacting operations. A companion applied research effort was budgeted in PE 0602303E, Project IT-03. RAPID capabilities are transitioning to the Services.
