Medium-Range Maritime Unmanned Aerial System

Abstract

Medium-Range Maritime Unmanned Aerial System (MRMUAS) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is a Joint Military Intelligence Program. The MRMUAS commenced under PE 0305204N. PE 0305237N was established to fund the Technology Development and Engineering and Manufacturing Development phases of the MRMUAS program. The MRMUAS goal was to provide persistent, sea-based, airborne, real-time and near-real-time Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance data to Navy and Special Operations Forces. The Navy and Army are cooperating in the Analysis of Alternatives and requirements development. During the FY13 budget process, fiscal constraints forced Navy to terminate the MRMUAS program and zeroize thefunding in FY13 and beyond. Navy terminated MRMUAS to focus on CONOPS development and drafting a Capability Development Document (CDD) that will support the Navy's Next Generation of Seabased Vertical Take Off and Landing Unmanned Aerial Systems, and to develop technologies that can be used to improve existing Navy sea-based unmanned systems such as the Vertical Take-off and Landing Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle and Cargo Unmanned Aerial Systems.
