Survivable Airborne Strategic Communications

Abstract

The E-6B Recapitalization program provides the complete replacement aircraft and mission systems for the aging E-6 aircraft. The program is intended to provide Survivable Airborne Strategic Communications in support of the President, Secretary of Defense and United States strategic and non-strategic forces. In order to provide survivable, endurable and reliable Command, Control, and Communications capability, continued effort is needed to perform technical evaluations, modeling and simulation, requirements derivation and contract development to support acquisition of E-6B replacement aircraft. Funding is for determining suitable aircraft, developing requirements and contract vehicles to award a development program that leads to the acquisition of the E-6B replacement aircraft.
