Airfield Protection

Abstract

Research, develop and transition technologies for hardening and protecting airfield infrastructure from munitions attack, unexploded ordnance and aircraft, equipment and infrastructure fires. Included within this effort are structural solutions, expeditionary and expedient hardening and protection solutions, explosive ordnance disposal technologies and aviation firefighting technologies. The technologies developed from this effort provide improved resiliency and rapid restoration of airbase and airfield operations following an attack.
