T-38 Avionics Component Integration (AvCI)
Abstract
T-38C Avionics System obsolescence remediation effort is developing and qualifying replacement components/Line Replaceable Units (LRU) that are becoming non-supportable. Systems include the Mission Display Processor (MDP), Heads-Up Display (HUD) and Very High Frequency (VHF) Communication and Navigation radios. Additionally, the T-38C program is developing a solution for the Federal Aviation Administration Automated Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) (Out) mandate. Furthermore, L3 Display Systems is unable to continue support of the T-38C Multi-Functional Display (MFD) and the Electronic Engine Display (EED) beyond March 2026. Development of replacement displays must begin in FY20 to ensure continued AETC pilot production beyond March of 2026.
