Open Source Data Analysis and Applications Focus Area
Abstract
Open Source Data Analysis and Applications projects include the development of capabilities, software, and tools to analyze open source information. The data can be structured or unstructured and will include inputs from a broad spectrum of sources. Where possible these projects will exploit advanced learning systems and commercial technologies to provide solutions to emerging challenges in tracking targets, big data analytics, and extracting indications and warnings. Technologies developed within this focus area will reduce cost and analyst requirements to provide meaningful intelligence in support of the counter Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), counter weapons of mass destruction, and counter improvised explosive device missions.
