Update 5

Abstract

Update 5 (U5) is one of the F-22's planned software updates that develops, tests, and fields new capabilities and capability enhancements. Software updates include changes driven by real world evolving threats, emergency/safety of flight issues, and deficiency reports. The U5 Operational Flight Program (OFP) includes Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (AGCAS), Intra Flight Data Link (IFDL) 5th to 4th generation interoperability mode (IFDL Gateway Mode), and basic Block I AIM-9X missile launch capability.
