Sensors for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Focus Area

Abstract

This focus area leverages opportunities for collaboration to develop and demonstrate improved capability in long-range detecting and tracking, autonomous sensor allocation, and enhanced processing methods to ensure situation awareness is maintained in near-peer conflict. Example projects include demonstration of advanced sensors; anti-jam antenna systems; materials with novel electromagnetic properties; on-board processing; fusion of intelligence data; and, platform integration testing. These prototype capabilities will reduce technical and integration risk and provide joint, cross-cutting value to the warfighter. A cross functional team, led by OUSD(R&E), will review and select prototyping proposals from across the DoD in the year of execution.
