Advanced Armor and Protection Technologies

Abstract

This effort enables development of next generation of lightweight protective concepts and technologies for defeat of current and future threats by utilizing real-time information, combined with threat knowledge, to provide ever-increasing protection. This effort funds research into the fundamental physics of new terminal effects concepts and provides a mechanistic understanding of threat platform interaction. The effort investigates the ability to analytically simulate complex threat interactions. Experiments will be conducted to validate the efficacy of the designs.
