JASSM

Abstract

Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) (PU 3466) is established to incorporate a JASSM Extended Range (JASSM-ER/AGM-158) derived capability into the Navy arsenal in order to provide near term, cost effective capacity to Navy's long range strike capability while enhancing the OASuW mission. The Navy will integrate a JASSM-ER derived weapon onto F/A-18 aircraft and partner with USAF to further the capabilities of the AGM-158 product line. This funding line resources requirements for Navy strike mission integration and employment by upgrading the existing AGM-158 product to respond to rapidly changing threats. Navy JASSM development efforts will also involve development and integration of a radio subsystem to enable dual mission capability and enhance operational flexibility, optimizing carrier magazine capacity to complement OASuW warfighting capability.
