FRICTION DRAG REDUCTION
Abstract
This activity is a collaborative effort with the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) and the Program Executive Officer for Ships (PEO Ships). The objective is to unambiguously demonstrate the performance of large-scale predictive models that incorporate sufficient physics from first-principles models on a large or full-scale ship test vehicle. FY 2009 funding profile reflects the phased completion of the Friction Drag Reduction program at the end of FY 2009.
