Ultra-stable, High-precision Optoelectronic Oscillators (OEO)

Abstract

Project will develop an optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) that has ultra-low phase noise, low vibrational susceptibility, and ultra-long stability. The OEO will be used as a local master oscillator, acting as a ‘flywheel’ to maintain inter-system synchronization when an external master oscillator/clock signal or GPS is unavailable.
