Capability Engineering
Abstract
Primary objective of this effort is to provide System-of-Systems Engineering (SoSE) support to the Joint Capability Development (JCD) process developing, using, and making available for reuse Joint Mission Threads (JMT) for joint context. This requires detailed JMT data collection, representation, and analysis in conjunction with Services and COCOMs for consensus. A Capability Engineering (CE) approach, developing and leveraging JMT architectures, will efficiently and effectively provide capability gap analysis and solutions. Using developed architectural products, data, and data relationships, the CE team will provide detailed capability engineering analysis to support JCD functions, including the administration of JMT composition and reuse, development of executable architectures that can be further refined through modeling and simulation, detailed analysis and assessment of capability gaps, recommended solutions, and coordinated implementation of capability improvements.
