Advanced Direct In-Direct Armament System Technology
Abstract
This effort designs and develops technologies for large caliber direct fire light-weight armament systems that will exceed the current capability of 120mm direct fire cannons and be optimized for future operational environment, including dense urban, with cross-domain engagement capability. Specifically, this effort matures technologies for rapid fire on-the-move at all elevations (direct & indirect), compact ammunition design with advanced ignition, advanced recoil mitigation to reduce impulse and automated ammunition handling and reloading.
