Improved Viper Strike Precision Guided Munitions (PGM) (USSOCOM)

Abstract

Validates a more capable semi-active laser that increases the field of view of Viper Strike PGM to strike fleeing targets. The proposed Alternate Semi-Active Laser (ASAL) has twice the field of view of the current seeker. The primary outputs and efficiencies to be demonstrated in the project are an improved operational attack capability while reducing unit cost and increasing the production rate of the Viper Strike missile; while also avoiding RDT&E, procurement, and operations and support costs worth $106.936 million.
