Hazardous Material Control and Management

Abstract

A wide variety of Hazardous Materials (HM) are used to construct, operate and maintain Navy ships and submarines. These HMs include cleaning compounds, solvents, adhesives, sealants, corrosion preventive compounds, acids, alkalis, oxidizers, lubricants, functional fluids, and many other products. Hazardous Material Control and Management (HMC&M) addresses environmental, safety and health risks to ship construction workers, Ship's Force (S/F), and shipyard workers.
