Tactical Edge Data Solutions (TEDS)
Abstract
TEDS is the implementation of Command and Control (C2) Core extensions for tactical information at the battalion level so that web-services data sharing frameworks based on Universal Core (UCore) can enable data sharing among disparate systems. TEDS focuses on exchanging data from Army and Marine Corps C2 Authoritative Data Sources for the C2 and Battlespace Awareness domains. The efficiencies gained will be the reduction of redundant software being developed across multiple programs and the ability to seamlessly exchange data within Military Services as well as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and coalition partners who adopt UCore. Transition of the C2 Core extensions and Web services for translation and semantic mediation is planned for Programs of Record in the Army and Marine Corps. The output of TEDS will enable C2 systems to migrate to a Service Oriented Architecture environment.
