AIRFRAME/SHIP CORROSION/COST REDUCTION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

This activity includes an integrated approach for the control of the effects of external and internal corrosion in Naval weapon systems as well as cost reduction technology efforts. The work develops advanced, cost effective prevention and lifecycle management technologies. This is particularly significant to life extension for the aging fleet. The funding increase from FY 2009 to FY 2011 is due to the initiation and ramp-up of several new EC's including corrosion related signature technologies and advanced shipboard water desalination and corrosion.
