Discrimination
Abstract
MDA designs, develops, tests, and delivers MDS discrimination improvements and countermeasures mitigation capabilities to address emerging adversary countermeasures. MDA is focused on providing the Warfighter with capability improvements to identify Reentry Vehicles (RVs) within a threat missile complex in the presence of decoys and with advanced capabilities to address other countermeasures. SE&I will lead and integrate the Threat Discrimination program across the entire MDS, establish performance goals for the product development phase, and develop functional, performance, and interface requirements to address the threat. SE&I will establish threat discrimination and countermeasures mitigation ground and flight test requirements, and develop updated high fidelity threat models to support analysis and testing activities. Other activities include: - Perform systems engineering support for threat discrimination and counter-countermeasures analysis and assessments - Conduct Threat Discrimination Program integration across the entire MDS - Perform threat discrimination systems engineering support for counter-countermeasures analysis and assessments - Conduct analysis on predicted performance of advanced capability development for definition of initial requirements for MDS - Develop Electronic Attack and Electronic Protection models to support MDS requirements definition for Electronic Protection techniques - Define operational concepts for improved counter-countermeasure techniques and technologies - Support Ground/Flight test data collection planning efforts - Develop models and simulations for Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, Objective Debris Mitigation, electro-optical/infrared improvements, advanced/dynamic threat, and high fidelity scene generation to support test planning and execution - Develop updated high fidelity threat models - Provide technical support for fielding improved threat discrimination capabilities Specific and/or unique accomplishments to each FY are as follows:
