Vision Protection
Abstract
This effort investigates and develops protection materials, concepts, and devices to protect vehicle occupants' eyes, vehicle cameras and electro-optical fire control systems against emerging laser threats. This effort also evaluates methods to apply the advanced protection materials, concepts, and devices onto vehicle cameras and electro-optical systems to prevent lasers from destroying sighting systems, disabling cameras that provide situational awareness, and damaging or disorienting Warfighter vision. Coordinated work is also being performed in PEs 0602120A, 0602705A, 0602712A and 0603005A.
