Laser System Ruggedization

Abstract

This effort ruggedizes laser systems for integration on tactical platforms. Ruggedization includes modifications of the laser system to withstand vibration, temperature, and contamination environments expected on the High Energy Laser Mobile Demonstrator (HEL MD) platform, and other selected tactical platforms, while ensuring platform volume, weight, and interface specifications are met. The laser system consists of laser devices, such as the laboratory laser devices developed under PE 0602307A, Project 042, and the prime power (PE 0603005A, Project 441), command and control and thermal management subsystems required for the laser device operation.
