Abstract
This activity provides modeling and simulation (M&S) community-wide services and digital ecosystems/venues, M&S policies, plans, standards, verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) handbooks and codes of best practice, M&S procurement guidance, collaborative digital engineering, and supports discoverability/reuse across the DON, as well as within its acquisition, analytics, training, and experimentation communities. Community Services promotes greater M&S use and reuse through activities which identify and prioritize M&S capability requirements, and leverage and extend M&S standards, information systems, virtual environments, and artificial intelligence in support of warfighting decision-making. It manages and maintains the Leveraging Innovations, Frameworks, and Technologies (LIFT) Environment which provides collaboration spaces for M&S Plans and Policy; Education and Training; Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) amongst other areas. Also included in this area is the establishment and implementation of VV&A training curriculum for developers and Accreditation Agents. It also includes development and updates of Navy M&S policies and standards. Finally, it supports M&S related educational efforts such as the Naval Postgraduate School's (NPS), Modeling Virtual Environments and Simulation (MOVES) curriculum which can qualify Navy officers to fill 6202-P coded billets.
