FY 2012 Biometric Algorithm Development
Abstract
The Biometrics Enterprise requires efficient use of processing, cataloging, storing, and matching of biometric data. A common challenge across the enterprise is the use of commercial algorithms for segmentation, quality assessment, and matching. As the amount of biometric data collected by DOD increases, the cost for using commercial algorithms rises significantly. This project will explore the feasibility and return on investment for developing and maintaining government owned algorithms for DOD, which would also be useable by interagency partners.
