Ultra Wideband (UWB) Radar

Abstract

This effort examines the technical underpinnings of UWB radar for several key Army concealed target detection requirements, including landmine and improvised explosive device (IED) detection, sensing through-the-wall, and obstacle detection. This research uses a combination of advanced computational electromagnetic algorithms, radar measurements, and advanced signal processing techniques to define the performance boundaries of state-of-the-art airborne and ground-based UWB radar for concealed target detection.
