Advanced Materials and Modeling for Force Protection

Abstract

This effort develops capabilities in the use of poorly-understood and indigenous materials. This effort develops multi-scale material modeling frameworks incorporating physics of deformation and damage mechanisms; a 3D multi-physics material modeling capability to allow for weapons effects models to be informed by remote sensing; and advanced material technologies for force protection.
